Snowshoeing at Emmons Creek

Two weekends ago we had to resort to winter hiking due to a heat wave that melted much of our snow. Luckily, another blizzard blew through the area so this past weekend we were able to snowshoe again. We ventured out to Emmons Creek Fishery Area near Waupaca, Wisconsin. The 1500 acres host a nice hiking loop that includes a section of the Ice Age Trail. The path travels over Emmons Creek and through the hardwood forest. Visiting the area in winter is especially rewarding because you can really see the rolling hills through the bare trees.

This spot looks amazing. So tranquil, and I love that glistening blanket of snow. LIke a clean slate. So pretty!
