Utah Vacation: Bryce Canyon - Day 1

Back in October Christian and I ran away for two weeks of adventure in the gorgeous state of Utah. I'd like to share some highlights from that trip because it really is a beautiful place.

On our first day in Bryce Canyon National Park we hiked the 8-mile Fairyland Loop. We started at our campsite in the North Campground and made our way up to the Rim Trail where we got our first look at the remarkable hoodoos.

The trail followed the rim for awhile and then dropped down into Fairyland Canyon.

Mind-blowing scenery was around every corner. What a strange and spectacular landscape.

The Fairyland Loop was a long and strenuous trail but took us away from the crowds at some of the more popular stops.

On a different note - signs were in the campground warning of a mountain lion sighting. Yikes! Good thing I was ready to defend myself. LOL. (It was 27 degrees when we woke up in the morning. That was the only night of the trip that I was cold.)

Up next on our trip: more hiking in Bryce Canyon.
