|On the trail to Iceberg Lake - Glacier National Park, Montana|
I think Earth Day is extra special when you're from Wisconsin. After all, the founder of Earth Day, Gaylord Nelson, was a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin. And let's not forget John Muir, one of the greatest conservationists of all time. His boyhood home was in Wisconsin. Without the work of these men and so many others, we wouldn't have the opportunity to explore the wild places on our amazing Earth. There is nothing quite like using the power of your own two feet to take you deep into the unspoiled wilderness. Slowing down. Calm. Tranquil. Yet more alive and awakened in all the senses.
After work today we're going for a hike at a local nature reserve. Then we'll grab a bite to eat at our favorite brewpub. And then off to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of an amazing local store. What are your plans for Earth Day?
